Integrating Transportation & Stormwater Infrastructure (TSI) Study
Initiated in 2023, the $10 million TSI Study is a comprehensive and stakeholder-driven planning effort to identify strategies for mitigating future flood risks based on the continued growth of Dallas-Fort Worth communities. Staff will highlight the study’s recommendations, anticipated final outcomes and facilitate replication of this innovative process elsewhere in the region and State.

Fiscal Year 2026 Public Transportation Funding Programs of Projects  
The Programs of Projects (POP) include proposed transit projects funded by the Federal Transit Administration through the award of Fiscal Year 2026 funds for the following four programs: Urbanized Area Formula, Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities, State of Good Repair and Bus and Bus Facilities. Additionally, recent requests for a Regional Transportation Council partnership with Trinity Metro, Dallas Area Rapid Transit and the Denton County Transportation Authority will be presented. This public involvement activity and time established for public review and comment will satisfy the POP public review requirements of the Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program.  

US 67 at Chisholm Trail Parkway Funding Partnership 
Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) staff will present a funding recommendation for an intersection improvement project at US 67 and Chisholm Trail Parkway/Nolan River Road in Cleburne for review and comment. The requested funding will address accessibility, congestion and safety at that location. Details on the project and proposed funding will be presented.

Walk & Roll to School Day promotion 

NCTCOG Staff will provide an overview of promotional efforts encouraging schools across the region to participate in Walk & Roll to School Day on Oct. 7, 2026.

Proposed Modifications to the List of Funded Projects                                                    

A comprehensive list of funded transportation projects through 2030 is maintained in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Projects with committed funds from federal, State and local sources are included. To maintain accurate project listings, this document is updated on a regular basis and posted for review and comment. Public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment on the TIP will satisfy the Program of Projects (POP) public review requirements of the Section 5307 Program.

Fiscal Year 2026 Federal Transit Administration Triennial Review Results
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) completed its 2026 Triennial Review, a comprehensive recurring assessment of organizations that receive direct programmatic funding from FTA. The review evaluated NCTCOG's compliance with federal requirements across up to 21 areas, including oversight of subrecipient transit partners. FTA has issued its final report with zero deficiencies, confirming NCTCOG's compliance with all applicable FTA requirements reviewed. 

Air Quality Programs and Funding Opportunities
NCTCOG has several regional air quality programs and initiatives to reduce air pollution in North Central Texas. Additionally, funding opportunities and incentives are available for projects that reduce air pollution from vehicles and equipment and/or help improve energy efficiency. Look Out Texans: Back to School Traffic Safety Reminders

As families prepare for the new school year, staying safe around roads and school zones is essential. Drivers remember to look out for children in school zones (Tip 21) and obey posted speed limits, as children can make sudden and unpredictable movements near schools. Students can also protect themselves by looking both ways before crossing a street (Tip 3).  Look left, right, and left again before crossing to ensure vehicles are stopped. By practicing these important safety tips, drivers and students can work together to make the trip to and from school safe for everyone.

North Texas Zero Emissions Vehicle Call for Projects                       

Through the North Texas Zero Emission Vehicle (NTxZEV) Call for Projects, up to $55.4 million is available for public and private fleets to replace existing heavy-duty vehicles powered by gasoline, diesel, propane and natural gas fuel with battery-electric or hydrogen fuel cell electric versions.
